    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Forgive the basics here, just starting my research.

I understand that many BT-13's lost their lives after the war to donate their 985 to the Stearman dusters. Is this the genisis of the 450 Stearman, or is it a factory/millitary supported sub type?

Aside from the engine swap, what other mods constitute a "legitimate" (if there is one) 450 conversion? I suspect the 4 aileron mod is separate and distinct from the 450 mod?

What is the certification category for the 450 (or 220, for that matter) - do they carry a TC, or are they E-Exhibition like most other warbirds?

Many thanks
