    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I think I already know the answer but I will ask anyway. In an effort to keep my canopy as low as possible I would like to use a backpack chute. I would like to do the "carbon recess Smizo mod" of 2" to 3" to keep my eyes far enough from the panel that I can read it. Unfortunately, I have a tube running across the seat back marked with the spring clamp in the photo's.
Is there any way I can remove or reposition this tube that won't compromise the integrity of the fuselage ?
Thank you,
Randy
