    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I removed the canopy from my Pitts S1 for summer. There is NO wind in the cockpit even at high speed, Love it, but, when I push negative, I get taller, and my head is in the wind. My headset came off and I thought it was gone, I was very relieved when I followed the cord and it was in the cockpit. I probably will order a cloth helmet from G&B, but I like the fresh air. I was thinking I could tie strong string around the ear cups where the cushions sit, and attach a chin strap to that, and not need the helmet. I just wonder if the wind would still push the headband back off my head? Have any of you tried a chin strap just on a headset?
