I'm seeking input on your success in lubricating fuel-primer o-rings, similar to that in an essex unit.
I've heard vaseline petroleum works. Dow Corning 3451 appears to be the best available (superior resistance to fuel), but pricey at $55/tube (shelf life 5 years). Parker O-Lube and Parker & Super-Lube looks like it is intended for O-Rings but the MSDS sheet does not specifically say that it is resistant to fuels. Dow Corning DC-4 was suggested by Spruce BUT it's specifically states that it is for "electrical contact" applications.
I was leaning in the direction of Vaseline but the newer "silicon o-rings" probably out-ran "vaseline" in the run for technology advancements. OR, order an o-ring kit from Spruce and it comes with a small tube of "who knows what" for $8.
