• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi,

After thinking about it for 25 years I finally got my single engine land certificate. I am considering building an Acro Sport II. What advice would people who are or have built give to someone who is thinking about it. I really have enjoyed reading "Chris's long acrosport thread". Where can I go for information? How much does a typical build cost? What do insurance companies think of experimental aircraft. I don't see much of a web presence for builders compared to other aircraft. What if I get stuck? etc, etc.

My friends who fly are building RV's. I bought the preview plans for an RV-8 but, I have decided that it is not me. I like to be different.

Also, if anyone is interested I have a YouTube channel where I post my flying adventures in Southern Michigan: http://www.youtube.com/user/IFlyAnnArbor

Cheers,

David
