We are building a S1-11B.
Getting to ever trickier got ya's and condrums and errors in drawings and changes and errors made by trusted sources....
anyway on the ailerons they are made per drawings but the drawings are really vague on tip and its shape. also it shows the leading edge as a single piece of 0.063 ply. the angle/bend out at the tip looks pretty stressful. should the wood be softened up first to form the curve before attempting to glue it down. I would imaging a big steam bath for something so large.
The wings are made the same way (not per drawings). so where the drawings install a wing tip and then tack the aluminum leading edge over that, the wing kit would have a 0.063 overlapping the edge (not so hot) or I can scarf a very small edge for overlap. or I might be able to form the leading edge as a single piece and make it be the wing tip as well.
any advice?
