• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Finally got it home and have decided it probably won’t kill me! I bought a Pitts S-1S experimental. IO-360, 200 plus hp, cross over exhaust, B&C alternator and starter, 9.25 to one compression pistons, ported and relieved cylinders, lots of carbon including a Prince prop.

So, at 75 I lost my marbles and thought maybe the Pitts could help me look for them. I can truthfully say I’ve never had more fun in an aircraft, ever! The ride is everything I ever imagined it could be. At 10 hours I’m still vertical up in the learning curve but what a ride as I gently begin to explore the edges of flight. I’ve heard many times how a Pitts is more airplane than most pilots will ever master and I can attest to the fact that I will never be able to fully take advantage of what she has to offer. Or even close, if the truth were admitted to. And it was already the right color!
