Hi,

I wondered if anyone can help.

I have a Christen Eagle with a AEIO-360-A1D that has recently been rebuilt. I bought it witj about 5 hours on it and I don't know how it was run.

It now has 44 hours and I was doing Aeros yesterday and it burnt 2.5 qts of oil in 1.2 hours. Plus it left a cloud of blue smoke everywhere.

I flew it today for an hour straight and level and it used less than half a Qt.

We did compression checks about a month ago and compressions were all 78+ and the boroscope didn't show glazed cylinders. I will repeat this week.

We also services the Christen system but it's burning the oil and not throwing it out.

The exhaust is bone dry and not oily.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If I need to get the cylinders rehoned then that's what I will do but I just wondered why it burns so much oil with Aeros and hardly any straight and level.

Thanks

John
