Hi all.
I've been putting this off for awhile, but i'm getting ready to correct an issue on my bipe's horizontal stab mount. My stab is held to the fuselage with 3 sets of bushings set vertically. 2 front and one rear. They do not correctly align, close but no. (I put in an old photo, but it makes the alignment look a lot worse than actual because the stab is just set in place with loose small diameter bolts)
I am looking at my options to repair or replace one or more of the bushing(s).
I'd prefer not to rebore the bushings oversize up to alignment because i want to retain the wall thickness and not have a set of very oversized bolts in place.
I took a quick pass thru AC43.13 and haven't found my answer yet. Is there an acceptable method to plug and rebore a bushing? Is it permissable to 1)machine a 4130 rod to fit, 2)plug the bushing, 3)weld (top/bottom/rosette plug?) the plug in place 4)rebore
or am i simply stuck removing and replacing the bushings?
