Hey Guys,
I'm about to get serious about welding the canopy flanges to the upper longerons and am thinking about the canopy jettinson for my Ultimate. I don't want to have the original canopy mount since it is too heavy and I don't want to have that strut on the turtle-deck. Everything should be as clean and neat as possible.
I'd like to have a side hinged canopy that can be jettisoned when necessary. Saw the idea of Eddie Saurenmann (stole the picture attached from him) and found it a great possibility to arrange it, BUT: I don't have the wings level with the canopy flange of course, so I'd have to frickle around ab bit.
What possible solution do you know? It should be side hinged and work as easy as possible. I don't want to have the open 1 pin hinges with the canopy falling of every second time I open it...
Pictures much appreciated. Thank you!
