I'm currently in the latter stages of building an RV6, A couple of weeks ago I made the top cowl which involves fitting some glassfibre "ramps" that extend from the back edge of the air intakes to the "roof" of the top cowl about 10" further back. Here's a photo (not mine - but best I could find to illustrate the idea)

I'm told that the purpose of these is to reduce cooling drag whilst at the same time improving engine cooling.

Given that they only weigh a few ounces I'm wondering if a similar arrangement might improve the Pitts.

Does anyone here have any thoughts ?. Perhaps even tried it before ?.
