Hi Folks,

we own a Christen Eagle with the IO-360-A1A fitted in. It has got the Christen inverted oil system. We have had a look inside the cylinders (see attached Photos). The result of the borescope doesn't look very good and it seems like (for me as a non-expert) we are going to need 4 new cylinders within next 50-100h.

here are some facts about the engine.
- overhauled in 2004 (engine hours set to 0), it has made around 700h since then. We do aerobatics but not too hard.
- Oil change every 25h and oiltype is Aero XPD 100
- always warm up before take off
- cylinderhead temps under 400°F by 90% of operation
- oil temp often above 200°F, in warm weather conditions sometimes as high as 220°F
- oil consumption not unusual
- compression check ok.
- Oil pressure drop in vertical flight or in zero G conditions

Any suggestions about a what caused the cylinders worn?
Any suggestions about a new cylinder kit, which manufacturer?

thanks for your help,
Manuel
