• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I am wanting to use a headset from a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S lll) in my ASII. Most earbuds work just fine with the 1/4" mono to 1/8"stereo adapter I got from Radio Shack, but I cannot get the mic that is built into the headset to work properly. The mic produces the carrier portion of the transmission but no voice when the PTT switch is pressed.

Can anyone help to develop the connection scheme and wiring layout needed to connect the SIII headset to the tip, sleeve & ring of the aviation mic male plug. The 1/8" 4-place headset connector will be adapted to the avionics mic & phones connectors through a Y adapter also from Radioshack.

The SIII headset uses a 1/8", 4-place male connector that I believe is wired to the latest Iphone standard (having to do with which sleeve is used for the common ground)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
