Flying today,
Flew a loop maneuver, at the top of the loop in the “weightless” phase engine stumbled. prop continued to windmill and engine relit 3/4 of the way thru the loop on the down line.
Felt just like my citabria days flying acro with carbureted engine.
Definitely got my attention. I headed back to within glide distance of the airport and proceeded thru another couple of loops, extended inverted flight, but could not duplicate engine stumble.
15 hrs on on newly completed S1S, 10 hrs of acro with no issues. IO360, performance Airmotive FI,
11 gal fuel onboard (19 usable tank)
Planning to take a good look at flop tube and pickup tomorrow.
Any suggestions as to what to look for/where else to look?
Could being momentarily weightless possibly induce air in fuel pickup tube?
