• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Having a problem with a rich running engine on my IO360 powered Skybolt. I believe it is possible that the fix is simple, clean the injector nozzels. Yesterday I removed the injectors and found a couple to look like they were partially restricted. Blowing throught them did not make a difference. The nozzels are soaking in Hoppy's # 9 over night. We will see if was the problem today. Regardless, the present system has a lot of parts and hot starts can be a problem although once the technique is mastered it has always started. The Ellison system has always intrigued me. I have heard of set up problems but in general the Ellison has very favorable reviews. Has anyone had negative results with the Ellison? Is setup that difficult? If is is that difficult would that not mean that the unit is very sentitive?
