Injected engine... I have been researching around the web, and am a little confused. Some use a filter after the boost pump, and no gascolator...using the sump drain as the lowest point for draining water. Vans have no gascolator in their vanilla RV-10 design, yet I have read that some DAR's will not sign off an airplane without a gascolator installed?
Additionally, some say the presence of a gascolator in an injected fuel system encourages vapor lock due to a) the gascolator acts as a heat sink b)it is yet another juncture in the flow and can cause bubbles[vapor lock?]
Thoughts?
