• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi all!!! This is my first post I've been following and reading past posts and I need some help. I'm trying to get my first Pitts flying!!!

I have a Softie 240 Seat pack and 240 back pack. I would like opinions on which chute to use, the seat pack weights 18lbs the back pack 15lbs. I'm leaning towards the back any suggestions.

I am about to put REM37BY plugs in my 360 angle valve engine is there an optimum gap

Should I cut the pulley off of the back of the starter flywheel I have a B&C alternator and wont be using the pulley. I have a hollow crank and lightening holes in the flange, I'm switching to a Cato 3 blade prop. If I do cut the pulley off should I have it cut flush with the back of the gear ring and round of the edge of the cut??? Balance??

If I cut the pulley off should I refit the engine baffle to force all the air past the cylinders

I've been reading posts for months its been very helpful, Im trying to get all the final details taken care of before I put the wings on.
THANKS
