• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Son Dan and I flew our airplanes to Hood River and camped out over a four day period, The flight over and back was about 45 minutes both ways. Weather people and airplanes were the best ever, food at Twin Peaks as well as at the fly-in and especially the banquet Saturday night was excellent. Missing was my airline pilot buddy Steve and although he is now retired due to age had to attend a family wedding in Michigan the same week end.

The airplanes attending were of the best and also varied with many one of a kind antiques. Most notable were an immaculate Bucker that was at one time owned by Mira Slovak who back when he raced a Bear Cat at the first Reno Air Race, he also flew the Bucker in between the races performing an aerobatic routine. A restored Waco 9 was one of five airplanes taken out of the museum that were annualed and flown during the four day event. Also of the five was a Taper Wing Waco I think with a big 400 HP wright that sounded more like a fighter plane than an antique. Also of note was the full scale one of a kind scratch built replica of the British Bristol Bull Dog fighter. Dave
