This has been a fun project for me so far. With the wood ribs for the upper wing complete the next step for me was buckling down and making aluminum wing fittings. I've been dreading this moment, probably out of fear. I've never made aluminum fittings for an airplane so I kind of shot from the hip on this one.
Lots of photos are available showing steps in the assembly of a airplane but very few threads or photos exists showing HOW it was done and the thought process behind it. Especially for the Baby Great Lakes.
Below is a photo of a section of the plans that shows the aluminum fitting I need to make. This is considered the "Alternate" fitting in the plans with the primary fitting being a bent up job.
