• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I put in an order for a "briefing stick" model of my Skybolt and got the photos of the near-finished product for approval. They just wanted me to tell them if everything is correct. They forgot to put on the teardrop fairing around the fuel filler neck, so I had them add that. Here are the proof photos:

A couple of days later they sent me another photo showing the fairing they added.

From what I could see, everything looked good so I approved the final.Well, I got my "briefing stick" model and it was really cool. Unfortunately, when I first picked it up, the propellor fell off and hit the floor and broke. Later as I looked closely I noticed that the cockpits didn't have any windscreens on them....looked odd.

I went back to the approval photos they had sent me for final approval, and every photo of the airplane had the pits obscured by the wings. I sent them an email complaining and they responded. They are going to manufacture a second model and send it to me with a replacement prop for the first one. Now that's customer service.

Best regards,

Brad
