• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Well - it has been about a month since I took delivery of N914 (some assembly required).

I've gone through things and have actually made quite a bit of progress on cleaning up from the fabric removal.

This plane has about 1000 hours on it. It was built as a C in 1972 and 4 years later, a Sparcraft wing was installed. It has been flown a lot and been on its back once.

Other than the repairs from nosing over - the wing does not show any of the known Sparcraft cracks.

My intention is to reinforce it while I'm at it as well as install all new bearings and AN hardware where I can.

The bearings saga has my checkbook smoking... and oddly I found a set of metric bearings in the stick with a machined bushing/spacer!

I have orders in to Aviat and ACS and continue to bead blast/prime and work on the wings.

Oh - and after searching for build pictures a lot, I decided it might be worth documenting things here - this is a commitment for me as always, I'd rather work than write!

Anyway - I will take and post a lot of pictures - remind me if it's been a while!
