• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

This is me again, ranting about something that is none of my business...

I've seen this statement a few times on Barnstormers and elsewhere, "No Tirekickers!" The latest example is here:

Ultimate 10-180 at Barnstormers

Mr. Bettencourt, if you are a member of this forum this is not intended as a dig at you. (Sweet little machine, btw). But anybody who would consider forking over thousands for a single-seat hot rod that could potentially kill them is a "Tirekicker", and proudly so. And every seller who makes the effort to advertise is a serious seller and doesn't wish to have his time wasted. Both should be unstated as givens. To highlight the seriousness of the sale may just backfire by frightening away serious buyers who want to be diligent in their search for the right mount. To say that the price is firm is really all that needs to be said without raising any flags with the potential buyer.

Rant over. (Weather sucks and nothing productive to do :))
