• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

The wind quit, the rain quit and the ceiling went up to 3000 so I went flying. I was about 20 miles from home and I noticed the oil pressure at 80 lb. The PO had marked the gauge at 60 lb and that was about the max. Good SW mechanical. I headed for home and took the road rather than across the bay to our island. At idle it dropped to 60. Engine is a 320 a2b with 1300 hrs and compression 72 74. Has always had good maintenance. I changed the oil 2 hours ago and it is very clean. Both screens were spotless. Oil temp was 160 at cruise. So I guess I have a stuck plunger/spring. Been there on cars. I think there is also a thermostat for the oil cooler. Guess that is the next project, any tips? A fellow at the airport said pour some of that stuff in, pointing to the gallon of MM that came with the plane. I'm not here or there with that.
