Something I have wanted to do since 1985, land at Copalis Beach. I made a day of it with 3:30 flying time and had a very nice day. Started off through the San Juan Islands then took a left to cross the Juan de Fuca Straights, about 30 miles of salt water. Took a right and flew all the way to the tip of the state, Cape Flattery, then a left down the coast. And emergency bathroom stop at Quillayute airport. Lot of nice Sitka Spruce trees but give them another couple hundred years to make spars. A lot of elk tracks. Finally Copalis Beach. Land on the wet sand and keep it moving in the soft dry sand. Looking at my tracks part of the reason for the drag in the loose sand is with the stick back the little tail wheel is a plow. Take off was uneventful. All of the loose sand blended well with the oil I dumped on the bottom a few days before doing akro. Gas at Hoqium and return home over the Olympic Mts, at 9000 ft and 37 degrees. Over the straights and home. A great day. will
