    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

We try to pass along things that we find broken here in the shop. Recently Eric Sandifer (Retroacro) broke his right brake pedal during a snap roll. Eric is not exactly easy on his Pitts but he does fly it within limits. After some discussion we now know of at least 3 other failures of the same kind. All these were during flight and during snap or spin input and not during the application of brakes. We thought we should pass this along so everyone could add it to their checklists. The weld that I am pointing to is the one that breaks. For guys like me brakes are a very important item in a Pitts. Not everyone can fly 2 additional flights in advanced and win a contest with only a left brake. Not mentioning any names ;-)
