Pitts canopy

    good evening,

    I'm having problems with the original canopy latches of my 11b canooy made by aviat, I would like to know if anyone has any suggestion to solve this problem, opens in flight and is very uncomfortable

    It may be the grooves in the rail (for the latch positions) or the latch itself are worn. It can usually be improved by making sure you have good sharp grooves, proper engagement with the spring latch and the latch has good force to hold it in the groove. The other thing to look at is how well the canopy closes -- if the canopy isn't hard against the windshield it can pop out of place during maneuvers.

    do you have pictures of the your canopy latches and rails?

    I have a totally per plans latching system. It seems pretty adequate. I assume Aviat used the per plans style?
