• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I moved this from the "BPF Total World (IAC) Domination" thread.

I think everyone (with a CS prop) holding to enter the box could help avoid pissing off the neighbors by screwing the prop back while holding. I boundary judged the south (nearest the hold and a noise sensitive neighborhood bordering the airport) Friday afternoon and the racket from high RPM while flying in circles set my teeth on edge (thinking of the noise sensitive areas we were warned about). They asked pilots to do it at the briefings but many didn't.

Assuming you have a "Leave The Hold" checklist and check the belts on base to the box, how 'bout just adding "RPM HIGH" to it. I'm serious, it was *really* annoying and I *like* airplanes. It's definitely one more thing to remember at a bad time and I'm sensitive to that, but boxes are precious and I'd like to see us keep them.
