So back in the day when the biplanes were being built like the RVs are now, how were the parts like cowlings and skin parts around the cabanes rolled? Did most EAA chapters have a large slip/bead roller for all the members to use when necessary? A quick search and the most reasonable priced 50” roller is 2200$. No chapters that I have found have one and it seems you would have to have it near the project to get the bend radiuses correct for a nice fit. I plan on updating my cowling eventually as all the screw holes are oblonged. Just curious…..
