• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Putting this proposal out to members for feedback and discussion.

I am located in New Zealand, Sunny Hawkes Bay area.North Island.

My Skybolt ( previously N52DH) will be familier to older members on the Biplane Forum.
Aircraft requires new plywood leading edges and recover on all wings. Top wing also needing new nose ribs. Aircraft was involved in a bird strike incident a few years ago.

After a few years of minimal progress on my part I realise I need the assistance of an experienced wing/ plywood leading edge fabricator to complete the wings for me.

I am determined to get these jobs completed and the bird back into the air. Time is moving along ( I'm 58 )and my current work commitments consume the bulk of my time. ( Self employed heavy machinery technician)

Proposal is to swap your Northern Hemisphere Winter for a 'Skybolt building' Southern Hemisphere Summer.
Aircraft is in a 400sqm hangar at my home which is alongside the local flying club.
Accomodation in our home and a vehicle/car/ automobile provided.
Time to travel/ explore NZ and repair wings....
Details will be worked out.

Could suit retired craftsman, a couple or two friends working together.
Open to any nationalities.
Really just wanting anyone with an interest and experience to help get her flying again

Open to all ideas and suggetions.

Local fly club has 2 Tiger Moths, a Gypsy Moth and Stearman airworthy.
Unfortunately minimal interest amoungst local crowd for traditional building techniques.
