Andrew (Andy) Duncan
This was my baby - Sold it. Need a replacement!
I recently bought a "new" Starduster N27MW (2014: 80 hrs TT & SMOH on IO360 -- I have only a couple of hours in it but it seems to fly in a tail low attitude compared with N321DC, my previous Starduster -- my impression was confirmed by the ferry pilot.
It flies straight and level hands off -- but definitely in a tail low attitude and it is quite slow (but the Whirlwind ground adjustable prop needs re-pitching).
I have read Dave Baxter's rigging Tech Tips and wonder if anyone has experience with raising the angle of incidence on the horizontal stabilizer. At the moment the plane has about 1 degree of positive incidence -- Dave's tips suggest the possibility of going up as high as 3 degrees. Thoughts, suggestions, experiences?? Thanks. Andy
