Hello Everyone,

For those that don't know, I am building an S1-11 and looking for a decent 540 Core.

So I have been going through the Lyc Guide that can be found here:

http://brian76.mystarband.net/LycomingEngineNumbers.htm

I'd like to go with a wide deck angle valve engine, but there doesn't seem to be that many of them floating around out there.

It seems I want to go with something that is a descendant of the IO-540-G1A5, somewhere in the K series.

I plan on a lot of high G, gyro acro...

Here are a few questions:

How important is a Wide Deck Vs a Narrow Deck?

Would a TSIO core work? Are there reasons I wouldn't want a TSIO core?

What are some concerns or models to stay away from?

Thanks,
Rob
