Hi all,
A bit off the topic but I know flight instructors read this forum.
We have pretty draconian rules in Australia as to who can teach someone to fly and under what sort of organisation.
I have a few questions I hope someone here can help.
In the USA;
How many hours is the minimum to gain a Flight Instructor rating?
Can an instructor teach independently or do they have to operate under a certified (Part 141???) flight school?
Are there different levels of flight instructor in the USA? e.g. Can a brand newly minted instructor teach all the sequenced up to PPL or CPL including sending a student first or subsequent solo?
Once again, sorry it is not about bi-planes but this forum seems to be populated with sensible people and I am hoping someone can answer my questions.
BTW, I just bought my first aircraft. Pitts S-1S with an angle valve engine, 30% hinged SS type ailerons and MT prop... so I am not all bad, I love bi-planes too
