Decided to get some tailwheel time in a J3. Had a T-craft for years... sold it and have been flying 172s for a few years. : (
Heard about Van Sant years ago... only trouble... it was about and hour and forty-five minutes from home. Guess itisn't any trouble any more... yesterday Denise and I went up there so that I couldget checked out in the Cub.
It's one of the only places around that you can get checked out... check this out... in
A J3
or a Stearman
or a Great Lakes
or a Tiger Moth
and then rent it to fly.
BRILLIANT !
Anywho... had a great time flying the J3. I plan to get checked out in all of them. Not that often an average joe can fly beauties like these. Well worth the hour and forty-five minute drive.
Here are a few pictures.
