I have a new to me s1-e. It has not flown in 10 years. I getting it ready to fly and I found many weights listed. So I got a set of scales and actually weighed the plane. 864# Fat I know. But I had the bright idea to weigh it with me and the parachute in it. With all the numbers empty and calculated for pilot and chute the weight and balance is ok. But when I use the actual weight with me and the chute in it I am too far forward of cg. The difference is 1 inch.
The question is, am I being too picky/crazy? Has any one else actually measured the weight and balance loaded? Should I stick to the factory calculations and be happy? I am using the factory s1-s manual for numbers.
I am going to fly with Budd Davisson in 2 weeks. I am trying to iron out all details before my first flight.
