Hi all.
I'm replacing the "glass" in my 3 piece windscreens. The front is light plexi, showing its age (1968). The aft is glass and the center pane is starting to delaminate. I'd like to make new panels for both using some kid of plexi, poly, lexan, whatever. The glass is just really heavy. This is on a 100mph top end biplane, so it needs to be tough enough to stop a booger from the front pax in an 83 knot vertical powerdive.
Seriously though, What do your plans call out for thickness, type etc, or what are you using successfully?
I'm deciding if I'm ordering something fancy from a catalog or going to Lowes.
Thanks.
Dan
