I’m currently working on the tail feathers and have bought the horizontal ribs from steen however I need to make the vertical ribs for my own tail shape. I was wondering besides just using a pan rake how everyone actually bends these as the channel is very narrow and deep and most brakes can’t fold it. I have tried numerous sheet metal and fab shops and no one here even wants to touch 4130 and the deep channel as it’s too much work. I am looking at buying a small brake but it definitely can’t fold to the full 90 and may not even have teeth thin enough to make it into the 3/8 end of the rib. Anyone’s input on how they did theirs and if there’s good ways or bad ways would be appareciated as I think a couple of builders might find this helpful to know.
Cheers,
Sam
