Gentlemen: I’ve done the Eagle thing, built a Hatz, am have now moved back to my earliest days of aviation....I’m building an experimental J-3. The plans call for six 5/8” metal compression tubes scattered throughout each wing. One is at the butt rib which I would keep and one sits just below the wing and attaches between the lift strut straps which I would retain. I’m wondering if I could replace the four remaining compression tubes with compression ribs? Wonder if I’d take a weight hit? The faced 5/8 x 1/4 compression ribs in the Eagle handle 200+mph. Wouldn’t it handle a hundred in a Cub?
