    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

It's a real shame that when I get a few minutes at work to just relax and surf the net---I tend to dig up another conundrum::::

Does pretension on flying and landing wires affect the total strength of the wire?

Can having the wires too "loose" allow cyclical loading and unloading of the wire and increase fatigue or lead to early breakage?

As usual, I have an opinion (though, it is tentative) but I want to wait to see what folks with real knowledge have to say before I muddy the waters at all.
