I don't know what it is with me and Springs. Upon landing at Taylor Texas to visit Beej, I was all over the runway having to use full rudder to keep it on the asphalt. Upon parking, found one spring missing and the other half missing. Essentially no tailwheel steering, I was just tracking after touchdown by rudder alone. A quick trip to Home(built) Depot and I returned with new tension springs and chain. Repair done I started to depart for home. My passenger who I met at Taylor mentioned that the front left rudder pedal was laying back, flat on the floor board. Took a peek and the retention spring (is that what it's called?), the narrow spring that attaches to the rudder pedal and forward of the pedal to some stuctural member (could'nt see really well, but did see the spring attached to the pedal and to nothing else. I'll have to remove the sheet metal on that side, but I want to wait until I have a repacement sping in hand to make it a relatively quick repair.
What spring is called for and where can I find one?
thanks and best regards,
Brad
