While inverted the other day I got a little light and got fuel on my knees (had shorts on). I thought it was going to be a long war but turned out to be a loose flare fitting on the top fuel vent line. Yesterday I got fuel on the windshield, which has happened before. I thought it might be the fitting on the fuel guage or the gas cap. I put a piece of vinyl hose on the vent tube on the top wing and put a bolt in the end to plug it. Connected a long piece to the lower tube and blew in it. I could hear air out the gas cap. Turns out it is a vented cap. I had just bought a new one as I thought the rubber might be bad. So I drilled out the spot weld in the center, rtv and a bolt eleminaing the vent and put it on. No leaks. With a vent tube near the wheel and one out the top wing why have a vented cap? Can anyone enlighten me. Don't want to have issues, and don't think I will with this setup but I haven't been here before.
