Hello!
I'm looking for a piece of advice. I always "stick" my gas tank before flying but it is hard to exactly see the trace of the fuel level on my wooden (poplar I believe) stick. Does anybody have a good suggestion for material for a gas dip stick? I have seen bamboo being used, would that be better than poplar? Any other wood? Or some form of surface treatment? I believe my wooden stick has gradually gotten worse (it is ~5 years old). Perhaps I only need a fresh wooden stick. Any suggestions?

Thank you!
