• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Someone enlighten me:
I understand the reasoning behind changing the rules to limit the number of figures for sportsman frees, (eliminating the 17 figure Point monsters)but, I don't understand how they came up with "Current years known +1" ? As far as I can tell, the Sportsman knowns have most recently always been 10 figures. This rule change puts the new restriction at 11 figures for the free. This is fine but then why is Int., Adv. and Unl. at 15, 12 and 9 respectively? This seems out of whack with the 6.2 table. So, I guess if you want to fly a watered down turn fest, I guess you have to move up to Int. where you will have 15 figures and 190K to work with.
As others have said, I understand this is not the "Official" comment place but, I did not receive any replies to my comment when I wrote the committee.
