I want to fork off the wing inspection cover thread to understand how to allow inspection for the upper wing to cabane attachment bolt clusters.
I've attached a couple of pictures. This is for a Skybolt.
I'll have a upper fuel tank installed in the center section.
To at least get a wrench on the nuts inside the center section after assembly, should I enlarge the attachment plate cutouts to maybe 5/8" or 3/4" from their 3/16" width?
On the rear side, I'll finish the hand grip section and install a 1/8" plywood piece between the hand grip and the bolt heads. I'm figuring 3/4" or slightly larger spacing. I'll leave this open on the bottom and cover over with fabric on the top. This will give access to the back side.
For access to the front, should I install an inspection cover on the top of the wing through the ply center section leading edge covering?
The bottom center area most likely will be covered by a fairing.
This is what I am thinking, but am open to other options and ideas.
Thanks!
