Did anyone note the official passing of James Osborne, previous owner of Starduster Corp? Actually it was some time before this was officially posted in the EAA Sport Aviation Magazine this month!
He was a most interesting fellow, and is credited with the design and promotion of both the SA-700 Acroduster One and of course the SA-750 Acroduster Too, he also built a full sized replica of a Nieuport 28!
Dan and I stopped by and visited him at Sunrise Air park in Melba Idaho about 40 miles south of Boise on our way back from Oshkosh in 1996. He was building another full sized WWI airplane a Fokker D VII, I do not know what ever happened to it! He was also looking for an Acroduster One at that time. I had heard some yrs later that he had contracted Parkinson disease. The mid 70s thru the early 80s were quite a time for Starduster Corp, he Bill Clouse Eric Schilling John and Janet Helton were all part of this era and the history of Starduster! Dave
