The landing gear covers are stainless steel and its two piece constructed per leg. The main part is bent around the outside of the gear and the second piece mates on the inside of the leg and screwed together.
The covers were on the plane with I purchased it, they look very nice but the weight of each cover is about 8 to 10 pounds. I don't know if I would have added the covers made out of Stainless because of the weight but aluminum covers might cut the weight in almost half.
The cover is held to the legs by an inside saddle that is attached to each leg tube a the top and bottom.
