Hi guys, Just wondering what the experts think about the differences here. I've heard that laser cutting can set up internal stress and cause fatigue cracking.
I did a search on the forum here and found that jimthepilotguy mentioned a problem with water jet cutting back in 2012 due to the cut lines.
I would imagine that it would be good practice to polish the cut edges of both laser and water jet cut parts. At least with the water jet cut parts there would be no heat affected zone and probably no internal stresses.
Are DXF files for the skybolt available? If not, I can draw these up in Solidworks for myself and anyone else interested.
Eric
