We just installed an “new” overhauled fuel pump on an IO360. It is a bendix version from QAA. It is on my S1S which also has an Ellison Throtttle Body in the engine.
We did a ground run and the engine did not run well. I saw about 20psi on the fuel pressure gauge (unmetered side), the engine would not increase in power and we also could not get the engine to stop using the mixture control.
On the old pump I think I saw about 15 psi. We are just reinstalling it to see.
I talked to Joe at QAA who is very helpful and it looks like the pump is in spec but we may send it back to get checked.
But, no I have a good pump on the airplane that is not leaking and giving the correct fuel pressure, do I have to adjust the throttle body to compensate? And how? I can’t find much in the way of documentation on them.
Thanks,
Nigel
