So, this may be a dumb question, but at around 100 bucks a sheet...id like to get it right. In the S-1C plans (have recently ordered aviats S version, waiting for it) the nose rib material calls for birch ply on everything for the wing ribs. Yet, looking through other build galleries, it seems people are using mahogany for all the SS version gussets. Since mahogany weighs less, id like to use it for my nose ribs. Is this a problem anybody can see? AC spruce offers then both as structural quality wood. (finally time for actual airplane parts!!!!!! )
