Larry Martin has been generous enough to offer me a ride and tour of his Skybolt based at C77. We'll be flying tomorrow late afternoon
I showed this beautiful Skybolt picture to my wife last night and she instantly was in love with the idea of us getting our own Skybolt.
I think this plane's resemblance to the Stearman we rebuilt helped bring her enthusiasm on board.
I will be traveling to see this Skybolt early next week.
It has an IO-320 with high compression cylinders (160hp) with 700 SMOH (1982). The plane has an empty weight of 913lbs.
Here is the complete ad.
The plane looks like it will be a good flying airplane that I can recover and pretty up to my liking.
How much should it sell for? The asking price is $29,500. Is it a fair price? I also have a lead on another Skybolt, a project which is very near completion.
Any thoughts on the price of this one? Advice regarding a pre-purchase inspections, or other words of wisdom regarding this airplane?
Thanks,
Glenn
