Hi all,

I am new to the forum and I am currently trying to assess the feasibility of building my own Pitts S1. Of the many challenges ahead, one is that my shop is really small.

Specifically the fuselage, once completed will have to exit through an opening of 32" by 50". If I remove everything FWF, the canopy, the horizontal stabilizer and the gear, it seems realistic.

I was wondering if anyone here could provide a measurement of the firewall width and the height from the bottom of the fuselage to the top of the cabane (assuming that non-removable skin panels, if any, are installed). I was planning on using the S1 "SS" plans from Steen.

Many thanks,
Marc
